Rohtak: The police raided a house in Sector 1 here today and seized more than 300 answer-sheets of the B. Pharma exam of Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.
The police arrested Neeraj and Jaswant, alias Jassu. The investigation indicates that the accused charged hefty amounts from students to help them pass the exam with good marks.
“Some of the answer-sheets seized in the raid are filled. The accused had planned to replace the original answer-sheets with the filled answer-sheets. They have taken hefty amounts from students to help them pass the exam,” said a police investigator.
On the other hand, the university authorities dismissed the possibility of bungling, theft or replacement of answer-sheets kept in their custody.
They said the university Controller of Examinations examined the answer-sheets seized by the police and found them blank. One of the two persons arrested in this connection was involved in a similar case in the past. “All answer-sheets used by students for the exam are safe and are being checked,” the university authorities said in a statement issued here this evening.
“However, the VC has taken serious note of the incident and formed a committee under the chairmanship of the Dean (Academic Affairs) to probe into the matter. The committee will submit its report within two weeks and anyone found guilty will not be spared,” the statement stated. Meanwhile, the police said university officials are also involved in the racket.
