Farmer Leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal's Hunger Strike Enters 90th Day: The 90th day of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal's hunger strike at the Datasinghwala-Khanuri farmers' protest site was observed today. The hunger strike enters its 90th day while negotiations between the central government and the farmers' representatives are ongoing.

Last night, a key meeting was held between the central government and farmers' leaders, in which three central ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Piyush Goyal, and Prahlad Joshi attended. The meeting also witnessed the attendance of Punjab government officials. The farmers' delegation included 28 members from the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha.

The three-hour meetings saw farmers' leaders putting up strong facts and arguments on how there is a need for an MSP guarantee legislation. The ministers listened carefully to the arguments raised by the farmers and asked to have all details submitted for the proper scrutiny.

A significant update from the meeting is that the next round of talks between the central government and farmers' union representatives will take place on March 19th. The leaders of farmers assured their determination towards getting a 100% procurement of crops at MSP for farmers in all states of the country. They approximated that having an MSP Guarantee Act would cost INR 25,000-30,000 crores every year.

They reiterated that getting fair prices for the products of farmers would increase their purchasing power, with positive effects on the rural economy in general. The leaders pledged to forward all facts and data relevant to the central government within seven days.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who was very weak after the meeting, remained overnight in Chandigarh. He came back to the Datasinghwala-Khanuri farmers' protest venue this morning, pursuing his hunger strike and struggle for farmers' rights.

During these trying times, the grit and determination of the farmers and their leaders serve as a beacon of hope for winning a better tomorrow for the rural folk.
