This prolonged agitation continues to highlight farmers’ pressing concerns.

Farmers Protest March Today: Heightened security measures have been implemented at the Ambala-Delhi border ahead of a significant farmers' march planned for today. The police have reinforced barricades at strategic points, including the Shambhu Border, as a group of 101 farmers prepares to march toward Delhi at 1 PM.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher shared, “The march has entered its 297th day, with an indefinite hunger strike at the Khanauri border now in its 11th day. The next batch of farmers will leave for Delhi this afternoon.”

In a related development, 34 farmers were detained in Noida late Thursday night as they attempted to reach the Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal without official permission. The Noida police stated, “After their detention, the farmers were sent to jail.”

In a move to address the ongoing unrest, the Uttar Pradesh government has formed a five-member committee to engage with the farmers and propose solutions. Headed by IAS officer Anil Kumar Sagar, the committee includes Piyush Verma, Sanjay Khatri, Somya Srivastava, and Kapil Singh. The team is expected to submit its recommendations within a month, aiming for a structured resolution to the protests in Noida and Greater Noida.

The farmers’ demands include compensation, benefits, and a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). Earlier this week, protests intensified as additional farmers were detained for staging demonstrations without authorization.
