Los Angeles: The release date of Lady Gaga
and Bradley Cooper starrer "A Star Is Born" has been pushed to
October next year.
Cooper is not only starring but is also making his
directorial debut with the film.
The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on May
18, 2018, will now hit the theatres on October 5, 2018,
reported Variety.
The new release date means that the film will be pitted
against Sony's Spider-Man spinoff "Venom" starring Tom Hardy,
and Fox's "Bad Times at the El Royale", written and directed
by Drew Goddard and starring Chris Hemsworth.
"A Star Is Born" is based on the 1937 film starring Janet
Gaynor and Fredric March.
The story centres on a movie star, who helps an aspiring
young actress find fame, even as age and alcoholism send his
own career into a downward spiral.
Bill Gerber, Jon Peters, Todd Phillips and Lynette Howell
Taylor are producing with Cooper. Basil Iwanyk and Ravi Mehta
are executive producing.
Cooper also had a hand in crafting the script, with Will
Fetters and Eric Roth also writing.
