Navjot Singh Sidhu expresses grief over demise of singer Hazara Singh Ramta

Chandigarh: The Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu has expressed profound grief over the demise of renowned Punajbi singer Mr. Hazara Singh Ramta who passed away yesterday at Brampton in Canada. He was 91.

In his condolence message, Mr. Sidhu has said that Hazara Singh Ramta carved out a niche for himself in the Punjabi music industry and his songs with comic touch regaled the people while at the same time also making them aware of the lifestyle in various countries. Mr. Sidhu further said that the songs of Hazara Singh Ramta were even liked by today's youth.

The minister said that the late singer through his songs 'Ramta Meman Vich' and 'Ramta Africa Vich' highlighted the way of living in England and Africa respectively. The minister said that the demise of Hazara Singh Ramta leaves a void which would never be filled.
