Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Michelle Williams is in negotiations to star in the drama "Rio". The film, to be directed by "A Bigger Splash" helmer Luca Guadagnin, also stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal reported Variety. 

The story revolves around a financial reporter (Gyllenhaal) who travels to Rio de Janeiro to visit his wealthy friend (Cumberbatch), only to get trapped into a plot to fake his death. The film will be produced by Studiocanal while the script has been penned by Steven Knight.
