Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Simran' to be released tomorrow

Kangana Ranaut, who has been basking in the love of thousands of people after her hit films like ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, is leaving no stone unturned in promoting her upcoming movie Simran. The movie is all set to release on Sep 15.

With two diverse films releasing in a single week, National Award-winning director Hansal Mehta is having a hectic time. In between the promotions of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Simran, Mehta made a quick trip to Toronto for the world premiere of Omerta (loosely based on the life of British-born terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh) at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it was screened for an appreciative audience.

The movie is loosely based on the life of Sandeep Kaur, an NRI in the United States who has been convicted of four bank robberies.The movie was in the spotlight long before its promotions kicked off, thanks to the controversy surrounding Kangana, who was credited as the 'additional dialogue and story writer'.

Writer Apurva Asrani cried foul stating that the actress tried to discredit his work by claiming that she developed the story with director Hansal Mehta from a one-line script. 


Other than Simran, Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting for her next film Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi, which is directed by Krish. The period film is about Rani Laxmi Bai and Kangana has already finished first part of its shooting in Hyderabad.
