Mumbai: Actor Angira Dhar, who is awaiting
the release of her first Netflix film "Love Per Square Foot",
says she is a product of digital medium and feels that it is
the new way to get into Bollywood.
"Love Per Square Foot", which premiers online on
Valentine's Day, is the first Netflix original Hindi film.
Dhar, in an interview with PTI, said she owed a lot to
the digital platform as her journey started with Y-films' web
series "Bang Baaja Baarat".
"The kind of love, appreciation you get here is
unadulterated, fans feel they can tell you directly anything,"
she said.
"They don't see you as larger than life actors. People
have hugged me on roads thinking it is ok. The digital
platform has given me lot, I am a product of the digital
medium. It is the new ticket to Bollywood," she added.
Beaming with joy, Dhar said acting alongside industry
stalwarts such as Ratna Pathak Shah, Supriya Pathak and
Raghuvir Yadav was a great learning experience for her.
"I have seen Ratna mam onscreen, and to be with her doing
the reading session was surreal. It was intimidating initially
but she is very warm and giving," she said.
"The people with whom I have worked are mostly from
theatre, I hope I follow their process in terms of acting,"
she added.
"Love Per Square Foot" is about a couple (Dhar and
Vicky Kaushal) who are in a marriage of convenience to buy a
house in Mumbai.
About the modern day relationships, Dhar said, "The
question is, is it a relationship about convenience or you
are really in love and are ready to give everything? It is
always filtered with practicalities of life, that's how
convoluted love has become today. I don't feel any different."
In real life, the actor has her goals set which is to
focus on her career.
"I would want that person to understand this. I am not
ready to let this (acting) go, as it is in my forefront," she
said.
