Bhalla was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Wednesday after a brain stroke. It is reported that he lost a significant amount of blood. His health started deteriorating last night, despite every effort from the medical team, and he died this morning at around 4 am at the hospital.

His passing away has left the Punjabi film industry, his fans, and family members mourning.

He is one of Pollywood’s most talented and beloved comedians, born on May 4, 1960, in Punjab’s Ludhiana district. He completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Punjab Agricultural University and also earned a Ph.D. degree from Chaudhary Charan Singh Post Graduate College, Meerut

He also served as a professor at Punjab Agricultural University, where he began his career as an Assistant Professor.

Jaswinder Bhalla is best known for his comedy series 'Chhankata' and his performances in hit Punjabi films like 'Carry on Jatta' and 'Jatt & Juliet 2'.

He started his career as a comedian in 1988 with Chhankata 88. He also acted in the film Dulla Bhatti.

He had released over 27 audio and video albums of the Chhankata series, portraying many characters in the series, and one of the main characters is Chacha (Uncle) Chatar Singh, an old villager.

He was married to Paramdeep Bhalla, who is a Fine Arts teacher, and had two children, a son and a daughter.
