Mumbai: Director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK say their upcoming action film "A Gentleman" is completely different from 2014 hit "Bang Bang". There were rumours that the Sidharth Malhotra-starrer is a sequel to Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif's "Bang Bang".

The makers, however, have rubbished the reports. "'Bang Bang' was outlandish action. It was larger than life. 'Bang Bang' was James Bond and 'A Gentleman' is Jason Bourne, where you are more cool. These are two different schools of action," the duo told PTI. The film stars Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead. The directors say, contrary to the perception that actresses do not have much to do in an action films, Jacqueline will be seen doing some daredevil stunts.

"The characters in the film are so well written, including Jacqueline. Girls usually don't have much to do in action films but that's not the case with the character of Jacqueline, there is a reason why she is picking up guns and fighting. It's new age film," they said. Raj and DK believe "A Gentleman" has a potential to be turned into a franchise. "When we did 'Go Goa Gone', we did not think we will turn it into a franchise, and it is happening now.

All these films have the potential to take the story ahead as the characters are strong. 'A Gentleman' can also become a great series," they said. Produced by Fox Star Studios, the film is set to release on August 25. PTI
