TCS COO N Ganapathy Subramaniam reveals plans to hire 40,000 campus recruits in the ongoing fiscal year
NEW-DELHI: In a commendable display of resilience against the backdrop of a sluggish economic growth marked by hiring contractions and layoffs across various sectors, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has made a bold announcement, revealing plans to create employment opportunities for 40,000 individuals. TCS COO N Ganapathy Subramaniam affirmed the company's intent to ramp up hiring for campus positions within the current financial year, defying the prevailing trend.
Ganapathy Subramaniam stated, "We typically hire 35,000 to 40,000 people, and those plans are intact this year as well. There are no massive layoffs. The way we calibrate it, we are always working to improve the utility because we have a good bench." This declaration reinforces TCS's steadfast approach towards recruitment and sustaining a robust talent pool.
Notably, This Announcement comes at a time when economic uncertainty has left many companies reconsidering their hiring strategies. TCS's commitment to sustaining its recruitment numbers reflects not only its resilience but also its confidence in navigating through economic challenges while continuing to invest in its human capital.
In a similar vein, Infosys CFO Nilanjan Roy disclosed that the company had successfully onboarded 50,000 freshers in the preceding year. While, TCS focuses on bolstering its talent base through campus recruitment, the company remains open to lateral additions, albeit with a more pronounced emphasis on discretionary spending, according to COO N Ganapathy Subramaniam.
