Chandigarh : Aiming to weed out the menace of corruption among government servants, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has placed its own four officials under suspension which includes an Inspector, two Head Constables and a Constable for accepting bribe of Rs. 1.50 lacs. In this case a regular departmental enquiry have also been initiated against the accused police personnel who were posted at Vigilance Bureau Range Ferozepur.

Chandigarh: Moderate to heavy rains lashed most places in Punjab and Haryana, causing mercury to fall by up to ten notches. Several places in Punjab, including Ropar, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Phagwara, Ludhiana and Patiala, received moderate to heavy showers until early this morning.
Two die of electrocution due to rain
Bathinda/Moga: A 32-year-old man was electrocuted to death in Bathinda and a 12-year-old boy in Moga after heavy rain flooded many areas of the towns in the pre-monsoon downpour on Thursday. Monsoon is likely to hit the region on Friday.
Punjab government to put Punjab on global tourism map
Chandigarh: The Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Navjot Singh Sidhu held a marathon meeting with the experts to chalk out an action plan for putting Punjab on global tourism map. The meeting saw discussions take place regarding identifying religious, cultural, historical and royal destinations in the State and transform these into centers of tourist attraction. The issue of formulating a comprehensive tourism policy was also debated upon at length.
