4 of family consume poison, three die
Karnal: Four members of a family, including two children, allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in Karsa Dod village late last night. Balwan (50), his wife Sunita (45) and their daughter Rani (20) died, while their son Randeep (18) is admitted to hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.

Restrictions in parts of Srinagar against separatists' protest
Srinagar: Authorities today imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar as a precautionary measure against protests by separatist groups over the US' decision to declare Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin as a "global terrorist". Pak violates ceasefire for 3rd consecutive day along LoC in JK
Jammu: The Pakistan Army violated ceasefire for the third consecutive day today by targeting Indian posts and civilian areas with mortar bombs, small and automatic weapons along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. This is the 23rd incident of ceasefire violation in June.

J&K: 10-day vacation for edu institutions in valley
The Jammu and Kashmir government today announced a 10-day summer vacation in all educational institutions in the valley from July 6. An order in this regard was issued by Commissioner- Secretary, Higher Education Department, Asgar Samoon. "All government degree colleges of Kashmir division and winter zone government degree colleges of Jammu division shall observe summer vacations with effect from July 6 to July 15, 2017," the order read. Director, Education Department (Kashmir) G N Ittoo said the schools in the valley will also observe summer vacation during the same period
