Sikh hijackers who hijacked Air India Plane in 1981 gets bail
New Delhi: A court here on Thursday granted bail to two Sikhs, accused of hijacking an Air India plane in 1981 to Lahore, Pakistan. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Kler granted bail to Tajinder Pal Singh and Satnam Singh and asked them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two sureties of like amount each.

Hackers siphon Rs 70 lakh from Ludhiana businessman’s account
Ludhiana: A Ludhiana-based businessman’s bank account was allegedly hacked and nearly Rs 70 lakh siphoned from it, police said on Thursday. The amount was transferred to five different accounts by the hackers in one day. Giving details of the cyber crime, DCP Dhruman Nimble said Arun Beri, who runs a garment factory on GT road near Sarala chowk in Ludhiana, has an account in the Clock Tower branch of a bank.
STF caught two NRIs with 5 Kg of heroine worth Rs 25 crore
Ludhiana: Sleuths of the Special Task Force, which has been set up to curb drug menace in Punjab, today nabbed two persons and allegedly recovered five kg of heroin from them. The STF of Punjab Police has also recovered 5 Kg of heorin worth Rs 25 crore from them. The NRIs identified as Palwinder Singh Sidhu and Ravinder Singh Ravi hailing from California and Washington.

State Info Commission disposes off 526 cases in June 2017
Chandigarh: The Punjab State Information Commission has disposed off 526 cases during June, 2017. Disclosing this here today, the Chief Information Commissioner, Punjab, S.S. Channy said that in June, 2017 a total of 2132 cases were under consideration before the various benches of the commission whereas in May, 2017 the total number of cases amounted to 2224.
Punjab govt increases old age pension
Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has increased the old age pension to Rs. 750 per month”. It was said by Razia Sultana while talking to the delegation of the Federation of Senior Citizens’ Association Punjab who called on the Minister to extend their gratitude towards the Punjab Government for substantial enhancement in the old age pension.
