Cop, discom officials beaten during checking of power theft
A police officer and some officials of a discom were allegedly beaten by residents of Shivpuri locality here when they reached there to check power theft, the police said today. Thane: A 26-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Ulhasnagar township here after a tiff with his ex-girlfriend and 'live' streamed the final moments to her through a video call, police said today. As per the complaint filed by the victim’s father on June 18, the incident took place in Ulhasnagar camp No 5 on May 21 around 4 pm, when Hani Aswani decided to take the extreme step, after being apparently upset over failed love, said PI M G Waghmare of Hill Line police station.

PWD starts clearing Delhi's Kushak drain after HC warning
Work to clean up the Kushak drain near South Extension Part II here has begun, the PWD said today, three days after the Delhi High Court warning that non-removal of rubble from the channel could lead to jail for the department officials.
