AI stops non-veg meals for economy class passengers
National carrier Air India has decided to stop serving non-vegetarian meals to economy class passengers on domestic flights in order to cut costs. "Air India has taken a conscious decision not to have non-vegetarian meal in economy class on its domestic flights to reduce wastage and costs as well as in order to improve catering service," the airline said in a statement today. However, airline sources said the decision was implemented last month.

CRPF jawan injured in grenade attack in Tral
Srinagar: A CRPF jawan was injured in a grenade attack by militants on a security forces' camp in Tral area of Pulwama district in Kashmir, police said today. The ultras fired a UBGL grenade at a joint camp of CRPF and police at Aribal in Tral town at 10.30 pm yesterday, a police official said. He said a CRPF constable was injured in the grenade explosion.
Farmer commits suicide in Sirsa
Sirsa: A farmer killed himself by drinking pesticides in a village in Sirsa on Monday. A farmers’ association held a demonstration outside a general hospital where farmer Salvinder Sihag’s body was brought, Although district authorities have put the reasons for suicide as personal, Vikal Pachar, a leader of Kisan Union, which is spearheading an agitation for loan waiver in Sirsa, said he was worried about his huge unpaid debts.
