Amritsar Schools Bomb Threats: Several schools in Amritsar received fake bomb threats on Friday, prompting authorities to evacuate the premises immediately, a police official confirmed.
Anti-Sabotage teams of the Amritsar Police, along with gazetted officers, are personally visiting the affected schools, Alam Vijay Singh, DCP Law and Order, Amritsar, said in a video message.
The police officer urged school authorities, parents, and teachers not to panic, adding that the Cyber Crime Wing is currently tracking down the email IDs used to send the threats.
He also referred to a similar incident in the past when several schools had received bomb threats, which were later traced back to students of those very schools.
Meanwhile, the administration, considering the safety of children, has ordered a holiday for all schools today.
Whether the schools will remain closed tomorrow will be decided after a meeting, according to sources.

They checked everything and found nothing objectionable or suspicious..."
The officer has confirmed that an FIR is being registered and that technical teams and the cyber team are simultaneously tracing the email IDs.
