HC notice to Arnab Goswami, Republic TV on Tharoor's plea
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today sought a response from journalist Arnab Goswami and his channel Republic TV on Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's plea to refrain from "misreporting" his wife Sunanda Pushkar's death and asked them to respect his "right to silence".
Cong workers offer subsidised tomatoes outside UP Assembly
Lucknow: Pricey tomatoes today spurred a fresh round of protests by Congress workers who parked a cart full of tomatoes in front of the UP Legislative Assembly and sold the kitchen staple at Rs 10 per kg. The party had earlier come up with a "State Bank of Tomato" that is being operated from the Youth Congress office here.
Two brothers shot dead in Hisar
Hisar: Two brothers were shot dead and another seriously injured by a group of assailants in Valmiki Mohalla here, the police said today. Old rivalry was stated to be the cause of the crime, police said. After the incident, heavy police force has been deployed in the area. The incident took place at about 11 pm yesterday.
Hizbul militant gunned down in encounter in Anantnag
Srinagar: A newly recruited local militant of Hizbul Mujahideen was gunned down in an overnight encounter with security forces that also resulted in the death of an unidentified person in the ensuing crossfire in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, security officials said today.

Flash flood hits Manali village
Manali: Torrential rain last night resulted in flash flood at Gazan village, about 12 km from here, and damaged roads, houses and vehicles. Chandigarh: The Haryana Police have achieved success in reuniting 2,280 missing children with their parents under ‘Operation Muskan-III’ from July 1 to 31. During the drive, 2,634 missing children were traced.
