India has retained its position at the top of the ICC T20 International rankings, according to the latest update released by the International Cricket Council. The rankings reflect performances from matches played over a weighted period, with recent games carrying higher importance in the points system.
As per the updated standings, India continues to lead with 275 rating points, maintaining its position as the world’s number one T20I side. England holds second place with 262 points, while Australia follows closely in third with 258 points, keeping the competition at the top tightly contested.
The rankings also show stability among several top teams. New Zealand remains at fourth place with 247 points, followed by South Africa in fifth with 244 points. Pakistan and West Indies continue to hold their positions at sixth and seventh respectively, with 240 and 233 points.
Changes have been recorded in the middle order of the table. Bangladesh has moved up to eighth place, while Sri Lanka has slipped to ninth. Afghanistan occupies the tenth position, with minimal difference in points separating the sides.
Further down the rankings, emerging movements include the United States gaining positions after improving its rating, while several associate teams have also shown minor shifts. The ICC noted that the rankings now include 98 teams, following the removal of a few sides that did not meet the required match criteria over the evaluation period.
