Indian man shows how ‘Bhindi,' the vegetable he grew up eating, was being sold at the price of a premium snack in the US.

A man’s trip to the US grocery store turned into a shock for him, as he discovered the vegetable he grew up eating being sold in containers as a fried snack at premium prices.

 In a viral video, a man shows how a pack of 85-gram okra was being sold for $6.80 (approx. Rs 600), which makes it more than Rs.7200 for a Kg. Joking about the situation, the creator said, “Look, what is this? Bhindi that we use to make vegetable dishes in India, in America, look, that same thing is available as a snack.’

He then goes on to show a large bag of Lays for comparison, which was priced at just $2.

The caption of the Viral Video read, “Sach batana, Rs 7200 mein bhindi ya itne mein toh fridge bhar jaata? We grew up eating bhindi as a basic everyday vegetable. In India, it’s just another sabzi. But in America, they fry it, pack it in a small bag, and suddenly it’s a premium snack on the shelf.”

“Nobody told bhindi it could do this,” the creator further mocks.

The video instantly went Viral, starting a row of discussions and funny comments.
