He thanked the people of the state for giving him the “good fortune” to both lay the foundation stone of the airport and inaugurate it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated Phase 1 of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida.
Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi called it a new chapter of the 'Viksit UP, Viksit Bharat' campaign, adding that the country’s largest state has now become the one with the highest number of international airports.
He thanked the people of the state for giving him the “good fortune” to both lay the foundation stone of the airport and inaugurate it.
He also expressed gratitude, saying, “the Uttar Pradesh which chose me as its representative, the Uttar Pradesh which made me its MP, along with its identity, along with the identity of that Uttar Pradesh, the name of this magnificent airport has also been added.”
PM Modi said the airport will greatly benefit Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Etawah, Bulandshahr, Faridabad, and the entire region.
“This airport is going to bring many new opportunities for the farmers, small and medium-sized businesses and the youth of West UP,” he added.
PM Modi further stated that aircraft will fly across the world from here and “it will also become the symbol of the flight of developed Uttar Pradesh.”
Speaking about the requirement of crude oil amid the West Asia conflict and global supply chain disruptions, he said, “"Today's event is a symbol of India's new attitude. Everyone can see how worried the world is. There has been a war going on in West Asia for the past month. Due to the war, food, petrol, diesel, gas, coal, and other essential goods have been affected. There is a crisis all around, and every country is trying to face it. Our India is also fighting this crisis with all its might, relying on the strength of its citizens. While India requires significant crude oil and gas from the affected areas, the government is taking every step to ensure that this crisis does not become a burden on ordinary families and our farmers."
