The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has maintained an active monsoon alert for Punjab as the state continues to experience varied precipitation. According to the latest regional meteorological bulletins, the monsoon trough remains well-positioned, sustaining an active weather spell across the northwest region.

Heavy rainfall warnings remain in effect for specific districts bordering the Himalayan foothills. Residents in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, and Rupnagar are advised to exercise caution due to the likelihood of increased water levels in local catchment areas. Furthermore, the forecast indicates that light to moderate rainfall will continue to affect a wide stretch of the state, including Gurdaspur, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Mohali. Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthla, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Barnala, and Sangrur are also expected to see intermittent showers.

Meteorological experts note that while temperatures have remained near seasonal norms, the high moisture content in the atmosphere is contributing to humid conditions. The current weather pattern is expected to persist through July 13. While isolated dry spells may occur, the overall atmospheric instability necessitates continued vigilance.

Citizens are advised to monitor local updates regarding potential traffic disruptions or waterlogging in low-lying areas. As the state remains under a watchful weather regime, authorities recommend avoiding non-essential travel in areas prone to flash flooding until the current meteorological advisory expires.
