Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that all state government schools will introduce an Artificial Intelligence curriculum starting next month. This strategic move aims to modernize the classroom experience and equip students with future-ready skills, marking a significant milestone in the state’s ongoing educational reforms.

The Minister asserted that Punjab has achieved remarkable progress in school education, recently securing the top position in the national education index. He attributed this success to the collective dedication of teachers, students, and the government’s focused approach toward improving academic standards and school infrastructure.

Guest speaker Manish Sisodia emphasized that a nation’s development is inherently tied to the quality of its education system. He noted that AI will inevitably create new career opportunities while transforming traditional job roles, making it essential for students to acquire advanced technical expertise to stay competitive in the evolving global landscape.

Speaking at the Bright Minds Punjab 2026 event in Ludhiana, Bains revealed that the government has been preparing for this AI integration for the past year. The event, attended by Education Secretary Sonali Giri and various dignitaries, also featured the felicitation of high-achieving students who secured over 95 percent in their recent board examinations.

Addressing the audience, the Minister highlighted that this was the first time officials held direct dialogues with students to gather feedback on curriculum and teaching methods. He assured that these insights would be instrumental in shaping future educational policies, ultimately empowering students to become the nation's future leaders.
