BJP's Bittu says Congress's internal rift has moved from closed-door meetings to public embarrassment

BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu launched a sharp attack on the ongoing factionalism and internal disputes within Punjab Congress, stating that the party's infighting shows no signs of ending. Taking a jibe, he said there was a time when the "saas-bahu" (mother-in-law–daughter-in-law) televised dramas dominated discussions about conflict, but while those shows have ended, Congress's infighting continues just as before.

Bittu directly targeted Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and state in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, saying that wherever party programmes are being held, only disputes and discontent are coming to the fore. Bittu claimed that a publicly elected Member of Parliament is facing humiliation at every turn, and the party's internal fighting is being brought out onto public platforms.

He said that enthusiasm among workers is completely missing at events organized by Warring and Baghel. Referring to his own political career, Bittu said he has never seen a party general secretary in such a state as Bhupesh Baghel finds himself in today. Citing slogans raised in favour of former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and "Go Back Baghel" posters seen at various Congress events, Bittu said all these incidents make it clear that everything is not fine within Congress.

Raising questions on the Congress leadership, he said that if the party keeps calling these incidents a conspiracy by its opponents, then what is the party's own leadership doing? The party cannot keep escaping its responsibility by repeatedly blaming its rivals every time.
