Fuel stations across Delhi will now be required to check Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates before supplying petrol, diesel, CNG or LPG, following a new directive issued by the city government.
The rule applies to all fuel outlets operating in the national capital, including petrol pumps and gas stations. Only vehicles with a valid PUC certificate will be eligible to receive fuel.
Under the directive, fuel station operators have been instructed to ensure strict verification at the time of fuel dispensing. The government has made compliance mandatory across all categories of fuel retail outlets.
Enforcement responsibility has been assigned to concerned agencies, which will oversee implementation and ensure that the rule is followed without exception. Authorities have also been directed to act against any violation or negligence.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government is focused on improving air quality in Delhi through consistent policy measures. She stated that pollution control requires sustained and effective action from all stakeholders.
The directive has been issued as part of broader efforts to address vehicular emissions in the city and strengthen existing pollution control mechanisms.
Fuel stations have been warned that failure to comply with the order will lead to action under applicable rules and regulations.
