Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday launched the ‘Talent Hunt Scheme – Hauslon Ki Udaan 2026–27’, aimed at identifying and nurturing young talent across the capital and providing them a platform at the national level. The initiative has been introduced by the Delhi government’s Department of Art, Culture and Languages.
The scheme is designed for youth aged between 16 and 35 years. Registration will be carried out through a dedicated online portal, allowing participants from all backgrounds to apply and showcase their abilities in multiple creative fields. Officials said the programme is intended to ensure wider accessibility and participation across the city.
Under the initiative, competitions will be held in different categories including dance, music, theatre, visual arts, sculpture, poetry, musical composition, instrumental performance and digital or contemporary art forms. Classical, folk and modern dance styles will all be included, along with opportunities in acting and stage performance.
The government has allocated a budget of Rs 10 crore for the scheme. It will be implemented across all 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi, with an estimated participation of more than 25,000 young individuals in different stages of the competition process.
According to officials, winners will receive cash awards, with the first prize set at Rs 2.5 lakh, second prize at Rs 2 lakh, third prize at Rs 1.5 lakh, and fourth prize at Rs 1 lakh. Minister Kapil Mishra said the initiative will encourage creativity and support youth in building self-reliance and career opportunities.
