The National Commission for Women has directed the Madhya Pradesh government to carry out a prompt and impartial investigation into the suspicious death of a 33-year-old woman originally from Noida, whose case came under its suo motu scrutiny.
NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has written to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Madhya Pradesh, seeking a time-bound probe and submission of an Action Taken Report within seven days. The Commission has also asked authorities to ensure that the victim’s family is provided protection from any threats or intimidation during the investigation.
According to officials, the case relates to the death of the woman in Bhopal under circumstances that have raised questions, prompting the Commission to intervene and monitor the investigation closely.
