President Murmu's historic three-Nation tour: Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania from July 19–25
President Droupadi Murmu will make state visits to Moldova, North Macedonia, and Romania from july 19-25 in an effort to strengthen bilateral relations with each of these nations. At the request of Moldovan President Maia Sandu, she will travel to Moldova on July 20. The MEA said on Friday that this is the first time an Indian president has ever visited Moldova. President Murmu will meet and converse with her counterpart at the delegation level when she is there.She will also meet Igor Grosu, President of the Republic of Moldova's Parliament.
Additionally, President Murmu will speak at a business event, engage with members of the Indian community there, and connect with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between Moldova and India.President Murmu will travel to North Macedonia on July 21–22 at the invitation of Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, the country's president. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this will be the first time an Indian president has ever visited North Macedonia.
Additionally, Murmu will travel to Romania from July 23–25 at the request of Romanian President Nicusor Dan. The MEA stated that this would be the first visit by an Indian president in more than thirty years.In addition to India's engagement with the larger eastern European region, Murmu's tour to the three countries demonstrates the significance India places on fortifying its bilateral connections with these countries.
