Under the newly modified schedule, the publication of the draft electoral roll is now set for August 17.

The Election Commission of India has officially revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. According to the updated timeline, the final publication of the electoral rolls has been deferred to October 19. This adjustment follows a formal directive issued by the Commission to the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, outlining the necessary changes to the ongoing administrative process.

Under the newly modified schedule, the publication of the draft electoral roll is now set for August 17, replacing the previously announced date of August 5. Furthermore, the intensive door-to-door verification process, which was originally slated to conclude on July 29, has been extended until August 8. These adjustments are intended to ensure comprehensive data accuracy and thorough coverage across the capital.

This current initiative represents the third phase of the Delhi SIR, which officially commenced on May 14. Once this third phase concludes, the electoral revision process will be considered complete for the entire country, with the notable exceptions of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

The Election Commission frequently adjusts these schedules to accommodate logistical requirements and ensure maximum public participation. Such revisions are standard practice to maintain the integrity of voter databases.

For Delhi residents, this extension provides additional time to verify their details and ensure their inclusion in the final electoral rolls. Citizens are encouraged to utilize this period to check their registration status through official portals to facilitate a smooth voting experience in upcoming electoral cycles.
