Kejriwal backs Wangchuk's cause, demands Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over NEET irregularities

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday extended his party's support to the ongoing protest by the 'Cockroach Janta Party' (CJP) at Jantar Mantar and appealed to climate activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his indefinite hunger strike. Kejriwal said he would visit Jantar Mantar on Thursday at 5 PM to show support to Wangchuk and the CJP's protest.

He said, "Sonam Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike for many days, and his health is continuously deteriorating. He is a national treasure. I appeal to him to end his hunger strike. There can be other ways to continue the struggle."

The former Delhi Chief Minister said that the Aam Aadmi Party supports the CJP's protest and its demands. He also demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Kejriwal said that reforms should be made to the examination system to prevent incidents like question paper leaks and to protect students from such troubles in the future.

Earlier, AAP's senior leader and former Chief Minister Atishi had met Wangchuk at Jantar Mantar on Monday. The CJP has been protesting at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and other examinations. Wangchuk joined the movement on June 28 and has been on an indefinite hunger strike ever since.
