Yogi Adityanath appealed for restraint, urging workers to maintain peace and avoid being influenced by misinformation.

Noida Protest Latest News Today: Widespread unrest gripped Noida on Monday after a protest by factory workers over wage concerns turned violent, leading to large-scale detentions and a heavy security deployment across industrial zones.

The agitation, which began as a demonstration against alleged low wages and poor working conditions, spread rapidly across dozens of locations. Protesters gathered in large numbers, disrupting traffic and halting routine activity in key sectors such as Phase-2 and Sector 63.

Tensions escalated when groups within the crowd reportedly engaged in stone-pelting and set fire to vehicles and nearby property. Police moved in to control the situation, detaining over 300 individuals suspected of involvement in the violence, while many others were taken in for questioning.

Officials said that while the initial protest remained largely peaceful, certain elements later attempted to provoke unrest. Authorities are now examining CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify those responsible for instigating the clashes.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh stated that individuals from outside the district may have played a role in aggravating the situation, and investigations are ongoing to trace their involvement.

The protest was triggered by dissatisfaction among workers who claimed they were being paid less than their counterparts in neighbouring states, particularly after a recent wage hike announcement elsewhere. Workers alleged long working hours, inconsistent payments, and lack of fair compensation, which they said forced them to take to the streets.

Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath appealed for restraint, urging workers to maintain peace and avoid being influenced by misinformation. He reiterated that the government remains committed to safeguarding both labour welfare and industrial growth.

State Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar indicated that agencies are also examining whether there was any organised attempt to destabilise law and order, including possible external links.

Opposition voices, including Akhilesh Yadav, criticised the handling of labour issues, calling for greater engagement with workers and more balanced policies.

Authorities confirmed that the situation has now been stabilised, with security tightened in sensitive areas. Efforts are underway to open dialogue between workers and employers to address grievances and prevent further escalation. (Noida Protest Latest News Today)
