AAP chief pushes automakers for compensation guarantee over E20 fuel concerns

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, announced on Tuesday that he will write to three major automakers to request written guarantees that using E20 fuel did not harm engines or lower mileage. Additionally, he stated that he will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage him to make ethanol blending voluntary in light of the "strong protest" against it.

Speaking at a news conference, Kejriwal cited Hero MotoCorp, Toyota Kirloskar, and Maruti Suzuki, claiming that their public declarations went against the instructions in their owners' manuals.

"I'll send letters to each of them, explaining that while your owner's handbook says one thing, you're stating something another. Give written notice that you would reimburse the consumer if your car's mileage decreases by more than 10%, Kejriwal stated. Will you pay for the replacement of those parts if utilizing E20 ethanol causes wear and tear or damages your car?" Kejriwal continued.

The three businesses did not immediately respond. Kejriwal further said that the government was deceiving the public by saying that India was not the first nation to use fuel blended with ethanol. This is merely part of the reality. The ethanol blend in such nations is often lower than E10. E10 is the maximum that regular cars can utilize, but not more," he stated.
