He said the total arrival of wheat has already crossed 81 lakh tonnes, marking the highest level in the past four years.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that wheat procurement in the state is progressing smoothly, with mandis witnessing record arrivals during the ongoing rabi marketing season 2026-27.
He said the total arrival of wheat has already crossed 81 lakh tonnes, marking the highest level in the past four years. Out of this, more than 70 lakh tonnes have already been procured by government agencies, reflecting strong procurement efficiency and farmer participation.
The Chief Minister highlighted that on April 11 alone, mandis recorded an exceptional arrival of over seven lakh tonnes of wheat in a single day, indicating the scale of harvest activity across the state.
So far, around 5.80 lakh farmers have brought their produce to mandis, underscoring widespread engagement in the procurement system.
Saini also said that concerns raised over new arrangements such as biometric verification are being misrepresented, adding that the system is aimed at improving transparency and ensuring smooth procurement operations.
He added that farmers in Haryana are increasingly adopting modern practices and expressing confidence in the government’s procurement framework.
The state government maintained that the buying process is being conducted in a structured and transparent manner, ensuring that farmers receive timely payments and face no disruption in selling their produce.
Officials said the record procurement reflects both strong production and an efficient supply chain system in the state.
