Saini also emphasized the government's commitment to a drug-free and healthy state through the Yoga-Yukt, Nasha-Mukt Haryana initiative.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has officially kicked off a state-wide yoga campaign, setting the stage for the upcoming International Yoga Day celebrations. The launch event at Gurugram’s Maharana Pratap Swarna Jayanti Park signals the start of a three-week fitness drive, designed to promote physical health and wellness throughout the state.
From today until June 21, the government will organize specialized yoga training sessions at every level of the administrative hierarchy. These camps are scheduled to take place across all districts, sub-divisions, blocks, wards, and gram panchayats, ensuring that the movement reaches both urban centers and rural villages throughout Haryana.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the primary objective of this drive is to combat the stresses of modern life, including insomnia and unhealthy eating habits. By promoting the theme of Yoga for Healthy Ageing, the state aims to encourage senior citizens and the youth alike to adopt a more balanced lifestyle, aligning with the vision of a healthier and more energetic population.
Saini also emphasized the government’s commitment to a drug-free and healthy state through the Yoga-Yukt, Nasha-Mukt Haryana initiative. He further noted that since the global promotion of yoga by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the practice has earned unprecedented respect worldwide as a scientific and spiritual legacy that transcends religious boundaries.
As the campaign progresses, the government has planned several outreach activities, including awareness rallies and specialized training sessions. The initiative will culminate in a grand state-level celebration in Panchkula on June 21. For now, thousands of participants and officials have begun the process of making yoga a daily staple for a healthier Haryana.
