Chandigarh, April 29: A 30-hour Value Added Course on “Capacity Building on ‘Ready to Work Smart as Educators and Beyond’” concluded today at the Government College of Education, Sector 20-D. The five-day programme, held from April 24 to April 28, was organised under the patronage of Principal Dr Sapna Nanda.

The course was conceptualised and curated by Dr Ravneet Chawla, Associate Professor and Coordinator, Placement Cell, along with student executive members including Anshuman (President, Placement Cell), Shagun Choudhary (Student Coordinator, VAC 2026), Kinshuk Gosain, Juhi Paul, Sachin Rana, Ishita, Naveen, Jatin, Ipsa and Mudita. It aimed at holistically preparing future educators for personal and professional success.

The inaugural day featured a vibrant Nati workshop as an icebreaker, promoting cultural awareness and student bonding. Expert sessions by Dr Vivek Atray, Brahmakumari Madhuri, Dr Ravinder Kumar and Ms Kirandeep Loomba focused on purpose-driven living, environmental responsibility, positivity, and well-being. The day concluded with a session on Universal Human Values by Prof Munshi Yadav.

Day two began with a volleyball match between Ace Attackers and Thunder Strikers, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. Academic sessions included Dr Ajay Sharma’s insights on entrepreneurship, Mr Sanjay Aggarwal’s guidance on employability, and Dr Sabina Duggal’s discussion on teaching in the digital era.

The third day commenced with a nature walk, followed by sessions by Dr Vandana Aggarwal on career vision, Dr Prabhjot Malhi on early identification of learning concerns, and Ms Anuradha Chawla on employability skills. Sessions by Mr Ramnik Bansal and Ms Ipsa emphasised excellence and career commitment.

On day four, a library visit led by Ms Khushi highlighted the importance of academic resources. Sessions by Mrs Indu Aggarwal and Mr Kartik Dutta explored gamification and AI in teaching, while Dr Ravneet Chawla spoke on “Passion and Compassion.” Ms Madhu Pandit concluded the day with a session on mindful relationships.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof Swairaj Singh Sandhu, who underscored the importance of storytelling in teaching-learning processes. The Principal Dr Sapna Nanda expressed gratitude to all speakers and appreciated the efforts of the Placement Cell team. The programme concluded with best wishes for the students’ future and encouragement to remain connected with their alma mater.
