Says Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development, peace and inclusive growth under the Centre's policies

Senior BJP leader and the party's Co-in-charge for Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Tandon, on Wednesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership on the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, calling the move a defining moment in India's journey toward national integration. In a statement issued here, Tandon said the decision had fulfilled a long-standing aspiration of millions of Indians by ending a provision that, in his view, had stood in the way of Jammu and Kashmir's full integration with the country.

Tandon credited the move, taken under the leadership of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with ushering in what he described as a new phase of peace and development in the region. He pointed to improved infrastructure, better connectivity, rising investment and growing tourism as signs of change, adding that the region's youth now have greater opportunities than before.

According to Tandon, residents of Jammu and Kashmir now have access to the same constitutional rights and welfare schemes available elsewhere in the country. He said the extension of Central laws had particularly benefited women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and other marginalised groups, giving them what he called equal rights and opportunities.

Tandon described the anniversary as a marker of the government's commitment to unity and inclusive governance, and urged party workers and citizens to stay aligned with the vision of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat." He expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir would continue on a path of economic progress and stability, calling it an example of the country's democratic and developmental strength.
