India Becomes 2nd Largest 5G Market; Data Use Crosses 31 GB Per User
India’s total mobile data consumption crossed 27 exabytes per month in 2025, reflecting a continued rise in usage across networks, according to the latest Mobile Broadband Index report by Nokia.
Within this, data traffic on 5G networks reached 12.9 exabytes per month, registering a 70 percent increase compared to the previous year. The share of 5G in overall mobile broadband traffic has risen to around 47 percent, while in metropolitan areas it stands higher at 58 percent.
