Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo are among the carriers expected to restart operations.
India’s aviation connectivity with Doha is set to improve from May 1 as airlines gradually restore full services to Hamad International Airport, according to the Embassy of India in Doha.
Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo are among the carriers expected to restart operations, re-establishing links between Doha and multiple Indian cities as international flight activity begins to normalise in the region.
The Embassy said the restoration is part of coordinated efforts involving aviation authorities to bring stability back to disrupted routes. It added that while operations are resuming, flight schedules may continue to change depending on regional security conditions.
Passenger movement between India and Qatar had been significantly affected after restrictions were imposed on airspace across parts of West Asia. Hamad International Airport had been operating limited services focused mainly on emergency and evacuation flights during the disruption period.
The situation developed after military strikes on February 28 targeting Iranian leadership and nuclear facilities, which contributed to wider instability across regional air corridors. This led to precautionary closures and operational slowdowns affecting multiple international routes.
Authorities have advised travellers to stay in touch with airlines for updated information on timings, terminals and bookings as services are phased back in.
Officials described the resumption as a gradual process rather than an immediate return to full capacity, with approvals and insurance clearances being restored step by step as conditions improve across West Asia.
