Under the revised PM E-Drive Scheme, incentives will be available only to a fixed number of vehicles, with 24,79,120 electric two-wheelers and 39,034 electric three-wheelers, including e-rickshaws and e-carts, eligible for support.

The scheme also sets clear price thresholds for buyers to qualify. Electric two-wheelers priced above Rs 1.5 lakh and electric three-wheelers above Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) will not be eligible for incentives.

Timelines have been defined separately for different vehicle categories. Electric two-wheelers must be registered by July 31, 2026, while electric three-wheelers will remain eligible till March 31, 2028.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries stated that the scheme operates within a fixed financial outlay of Rs 10,900 crore, and total disbursement will not exceed this limit.

It also noted that the scheme may be closed earlier if the allocated funds are fully utilised before the final deadline, meaning no further claims will be accepted beyond that point.

The revised guidelines outline eligibility, timelines and limits for availing incentives under the scheme.
