Reflecting on the grueling negotiation process, Goyal described the pact as a fair, equitable, and highly balanced deal. He acknowledged that while both sides engaged in intense debates over specific products and clauses, the final outcome was achieved through mutual understanding and a sincere regard for each other's core national interests.

Celebrating the tenth anniversary of the UK-India Awards 2026, the India Global Forum highlighted that CETA is set for official implementation starting July 15. Minister Goyal was joined on stage by his UK counterpart, Peter Kyle, and founder Manoj Ladwa. Goyal emphasized that the agreement transcends mere tariffs, fostering deeper cooperation in technology, education, culture, and arts.

Expressing firm optimism, Goyal stated he has no doubt the agreement will be a resounding success. He concluded that this historic CETA will serve as the definitive blueprint and ideal template for all future international free trade agreements.
