The new automatic S-CNG range brings the ease of an automatic together with strong fuel efficiency.
Mumbai, Sep 18: Maruti Suzuki on Friday launched its Auto Green Mission by introducing automatic S-CNG variants of the Swift, Dzire and Baleno, citing a 58 per cent year-on-year rise in sales of its S-CNG vehicles.
The new range is aimed at modern customers who want the ease of an automatic along with strong fuel efficiency. The company said the Dzire automatic S-CNG, at 36.47 km/kg, is the most fuel-efficient sedan in the country.
Developed by Maruti Suzuki India for cleaner and more efficient driving, the S-CNG lineup comes with factory-fitted Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technology.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said that as Indian cities grow rapidly, customers want the convenience of an automatic without giving up fuel efficiency or performance in traffic. He said the new automatic S-CNG range under the Auto Green Mission suits today's aspirational buyers who want both.
He added that demand for these cars has been unprecedented, as environmentally conscious customers are increasingly accepting eco-friendly options across all segments.
Banerjee said S-CNG sales in the first quarter of this year were 58 per cent higher than in the same quarter last year, and that July saw the highest-ever monthly S-CNG sales of 83,000 units. He said the new automatic S-CNG range will add to the growing share of clean and green cars in India.
