India’s wholesale price inflation (WPI) climbed to 9.87 per cent in June 2026, up from 9.68 per cent in May, according to provisional data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday. This persistent upward movement reflects intensifying cost pressures within the domestic supply chain, driven by a broad range of industrial and agricultural inputs.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade reported that the All India Wholesale Price Index reached 110.2 in June, compared to 109.9 in the previous month. This rise was primarily fueled by significant increases in the prices of mineral oils, food articles, basic metals, and various chemical products, which are vital components for industrial manufacturing.
