Under its long-term master plan, capacity will be expanded in phases to accommodate more than 70 million passengers annually.
Noida International Airport will begin commercial flight operations from 15 June, marking a major step in the rollout of one of India’s most significant aviation infrastructure projects in the Delhi-NCR region. The airport operator confirmed the launch on Friday, stating that passenger services will start after receiving all required regulatory approvals.
The airport has already secured clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, along with other mandatory safety and operational certifications. Officials said these approvals confirm that the airport’s infrastructure, security systems and operational readiness meet aviation standards required for commercial flights.
IndiGo will operate the first passenger flight from the airport, followed by services from Akasa Air and Air India Express in the initial phase of operations. Detailed flight schedules, destinations and passenger service information are expected to be announced soon by the operator.
Developed to meet rising air traffic demand in the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh, the airport currently has one runway and a single passenger terminal. It is designed with modern facilities aimed at improving passenger experience and operational efficiency.
At present, the airport has an annual handling capacity of around 12 million passengers. Under its long-term master plan, capacity will be expanded in phases to accommodate more than 70 million passengers annually, making it a key future aviation hub for the region.
Officials said the airport is expected to enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth, including trade, tourism and investment.
