MakeMyTrip has introduced a new service allowing travelers to secure guaranteed early check-in and late check-out slots directly through its app. This initiative addresses the long-standing uncertainty of hotel availability by letting guests book specific 3, 6, or 9-hour windows during the reservation process, ensuring rooms are ready exactly when required.

While price and location remain essential, he emphasized that flexibility has become a critical factor in booking decisions. The company aims to evolve with these changing habits, providing modern travelers with the control they need to manage their itineraries effectively.

Current industry data shows that over 50 percent of domestic travelers arrive before 9:00 AM, while a significant portion departs well after 3:00 PM. Traditional hotel policies often force these guests to wait in lobbies or manage luggage storage for hours, disrupting their day. This platform update is designed to bridge the gap between fixed hotel timings and actual passenger flight schedules.

The service is now live across 10,000 domestic properties, including villas and homestays, and 1,000 international locations. Users can purchase these flexible slots for an additional fee during checkout.

This feature transforms travel planning by removing baggage-related stress, allowing for smoother arrivals and departures, significantly improving the overall quality of trips.
