Passengers traveling on Indian Railways can now enjoy meals from a wide network of restaurants delivered directly to their seats. A recent partnership between train ticketing platform ixigo Trains & Confirm Ticket and food delivery service Swiggy allows travelers to order from over 40,000 restaurants at more than 160 railway stations across the country. The service is part of the ongoing “Food on Train” initiative, which aims to enhance passenger convenience during journeys.

The initiative is designed to make train travel more seamless, enabling passengers to select their preferred meals online and have them delivered while on board. This integration of digital food delivery with railway travel expands options for commuters who previously had limited access to quality meals during their trips.

According to the chief operations officer of ixigo Trains & Confirm Ticket, the collaboration strengthens the existing onboard food services by leveraging Swiggy’s expertise and extensive restaurant network. The move reflects the growing trend of technology-driven solutions improving passenger comfort and travel amenities in India.
