WPL 2026 Schedule Confirmed — Dates, Venues, and Final Hosts Announced
According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 is officially announced. It will be played from 9 January to 5 February 2026. This season is going to begin a month earlier than usual. The change has been made to avoid a clash with the men’s T20 World Cup.
The tournament will be played in a “caravan model”. The opening leg will take place at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai; this is the venue where India recently celebrated a historic Women’s World Cup triumph. The campaign kicks off with a clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians Women and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women, setting the tone for high-voltage action early on.
Once the first 11 matches of the league stage take place in Navi Mumbai. Then the action moves to the second city, Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, where the final nine group matches and all playoffs will be held. Significantly, Vadodara will host the WPL final for the first time in history – a milestone for the league.
According to tournament organisers, the playoff structure remains the same: the top team from the league stage goes straight to the final, while the second- and third-placed sides play an eliminator on 3 February. The grand finale will be held on Thursday, 5 February 2026.
Cricket fans and women's sport supporters now have a calendar; players and franchises can plan accordingly; and media and broadcasters can gear up for what promises to be an exciting build-up. With these changes—a new host venue for finals, earlier dates, and a renewed caravan setup—WPL 2026 could mark a fresh chapter in Indian women’s cricket, blending tradition with expansion and opportunity, experts said.
