India Continues Medal Streak with Tennis & Shooting Triumphs at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China

HANGZHOU: Indian athletes showcased their mettle on the sixth day of the 19th Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China. A total of 158 Indian players are participating in 16 different games, making their mark on the international stage. The day commenced on a high note for India, with their shooters securing two medals. Aishwary Tomar, Swapnil Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran brought home a gold medal for India in the 50m rifle 3 position team event, displaying exceptional teamwork and accuracy. Simultaneously, Palak, Isha Singh, and Divya clinched a silver medal in the 10m air pistol event, further bolstering India's medal tally.

In the realm of tennis, Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni exhibited their prowess and teamwork by securing the silver medal in the men's doubles category. These victories brought India's overall medal count to an impressive 28, with 7 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

Day six also witnessed India's triumph in the 10m air pistol women's team event, marking a historic moment. Isha Singh, Palak, and Divya displayed outstanding performance, securing a silver medal with a combined score of 1731. The Chinese team clinched the gold with a score of 1736, while the Chinese Taipei team secured the bronze with a score of 1723.
