Paris Olympics 2024, Manu Bhaker bronze medal in shooting 10m air pistol: India has opened its account in the Paris Olympics 2024 as 22-year-old Manu Bhaker has become the first Indian woman to have won a medal in the shooting event in the history of the Olympics. 

Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal for India in the Women's 10m Air Pistol event while Korea's Oh Ye Jin and Kim Yeji won Gold and Silver medals, respectively. 

It is pertinent to mention that Manu Bhaker was on the verge of winning the Silver medal but Korea's Kim Yeji improved her last shot as she took over Manu Bhaker to secure the silver medal. 

Manu Bhaker indeed had a struggle behind her success.

- 19-year-old Manu Bhaker scores 98/100 in the 1st series, ranking second.
- In the 2nd series, her pistol malfunctions.
- Allowed to replace only the defective lever and not the entire pistol.
- Lost a lot of time in the process & tried her best to catch up.
- Slipped to No. 12 & failed to qualify for the final.
- Sleepless at night, the incident affects her 25m pistol and mixed team events too.
- Faced a lot of criticism following Tokyo 2020.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝗺 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗹:  

22-year-old Manu Bhaker reunited with long-time coach Jaspal Rana and reinvented herself in the recent months. She won the first-ever medal by an Indian woman shooter in the history of Olympics.
