India won it's first-ever Women's Cricket World Cup on November 2 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, by defeating South Africa.

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has extended heartfelt congratulations to Punjab’s daughter, cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, for creating history as the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team and leading India to victory in the World Cup.
Speaker Sandhwan said that Harmanpreet Kaur has made the entire nation, especially Punjab, proud with her “dedication, hard work, and indomitable spirit”.
“She has proved that when intentions are strong, daughters are no less than sons in any field,” the Speaker said, according to an official press release.
Sandhwan added that the cricketing star has inspired young girls across the country by scripting history. “This victory is a symbol of women empowerment and marks the beginning of a new golden era in sports,” he further stated.
Hailing the women athletes of the state, Sandhwan said, “The daughters of Punjab have always proven their capabilities across the globe with courage and determination, and this victory of Harmanpreet Kaur is the latest example.”
