Is RCB up for sale after IPL 2025 win? latest news:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise's current owners, Diageo Plc, are reportedly looking to sell the team, NDTV reported citing sources.
The news comes just a week after RCB secured their maiden IPL title in 2025.
The report said that RCB is managed in India by United Spirits Ltd, a subsidiary of Diageo Plc, which is already in talks with potential investors. Citing Bloomberg, it added that the owners might demand around USD 2 billion for a complete sale of the franchise.
Diageo Plc is currently evaluating options to sell either a partial or full stake in Royal Challengers Bengaluru, according to sources. However, a final decision on the sale has not been made yet.
The franchise was established in 2008 by United Spirits, with its home ground at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is considered one of the most valuable franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The team was originally owned by Vijay Mallya, who acquired the Bangalore franchise for USD 111.6 million. It was later taken over by Diageo Plc through its acquisition of United Spirits Ltd.
